Minimal Records

Minimal Records was founded in 2012 by Sumeth Yordkaew (Meth) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. As an independent record label, it is dedicated to supporting local musicians and fostering the growth of the indie music scene in northern Thailand.

The roots of Minimal Records trace back to the No Signal Input (NSI) project, a collective initiative that brought together local indie artists in Chiang Mai through music compilation projects and live events. Following the success of NSI and the growing creative community surrounding Minimal Bar, a popular gathering place for local artists and musicians, Sumeth officially established Minimal Records.

The label was founded with a clear vision: to create opportunities for artists to produce, release, and sustain their original music while remaining based in Chiang Mai, without having to relocate to Bangkok to pursue careers in the music industry.

Operating on a community-driven model, Minimal Records provides a creative platform that embraces diverse musical identities and artistic expression. The label supports its artists through music production, physical releases, and live show management, while continuing to nurture local talent and strengthen the independent music community in northern Thailand.
